I understand completely what you mean. We all like making stuff to make our mates laugh. It seems you see the Doc in a different light than your esteemed friend. The post began saying it's a two minute trailer for a documentary you are working on. Now in my eyes that sounds like a serious post regarding a trailer for a serious documentary you are making. When one of you then comes back and saying it's just something you're messing about on, that's what pisses people off.
Why should we bother watching and critiqueing when the film is just for the enjoyment of you and your mates. Our criticisms are worthless because there is no way they you are going to listen to them and change the film anyway. That's what pisses me off.
If the post had begun, 'This is a short documentary we are working on just for a laugh' then fine we all know where we stand. So far the shorts WindowsLaws have posted just make you look amateur. And putting stuff like the Doc up only adds to the feeling. If you want some respect on the forum, or at least from me, post something you are proud of that showcases your talents as directors. Not something you can say you just made for a laugh when it starts getting criticised. I think you two have got some talent somewhere in there, why not show it.

Admittedly, on re-reading it my last line did sound really thuper gay but you get the gist.
Why not give your opinions to number two and let him construct the sentences for you in future though. He makes much more sense.
The trailer made me want to avoid the documentary if nothing else. But, after reading that you said it was a basically piss about with your mates then who cares?
Although admittedly this topic has 'spiced it up' and therefore served it's purpose. Time to kick back and enjoy the debate...

I thought the visuals were totally uninspired and uninspiring.
The soundtrack raised a smile, I did actually quite like the v/o, and the poor harmonies raised a smile. But the lyrics kinda suck, I mean going on about not having negro blood blah blah, did you guys never hear Rick Astley?

Ok, yeah, its just fun. But that shouldn't piss you off whether its fun or for a laugh or anything, I don't think the trailer nedds much criticism in a way, good or bad, its literally titles and dissolved raw footage from a music video at the moment, just shoved up here for a bit of interest I think.
